I stumbled upon this a couple of years ago when my friend and I was trying to pitch an ID/ architecture show to a couple of TV stations.
The pitch failed ;(
But I’m oh so glad I stumbled upon this:
Reversible Destiny Lofts MITAKA! Located in the suburb of Mitaka, Tokyo!
These are lofts built and designed to hopefully literally reverse your destiny!
The Reversible Destiny Lofts MITAKA is in memory of Helen Keller. Full info here.
It’s a complex theory when you try to digest the info found on the architects’(Arakawa+Gins) website.
Normally, we recline into our little cozy areas when we get home, these lofts embody the exact reverse meaning of that.
They’re built so your environment is meant to invigorate you and prolong longevity, and you are meant to interact with your environment, to use it, to prolong your life.
Phrases like “procedural architecture” were used.
What I got from all the info was – these lofts are built to get us off our lazy asses so we get to live longer!
Maybe the pics will explain it better…
I’m not too sure about the comfort level of these lofts/condos, but I know my FIRST thought was, “what a concept”! And, “How Colorful”!
What d’ya think?
Doable in Malaysia?
